Open Question: I've my PS3 wrong region 2.52 update? - I have a Japanese version of Playstation 3. Two days ago, I downloaded some updates (the 2.52 update) then I installed it to the PS3. However, It seemed that I chose the wrong update. Instead of downloading the update for the japanese version, I downloaded the US version of the update. The games work fine, yes. But the problem is, I cannot watch some the Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies anymore. The PS3 just won't read them. Before the update, they work just fine. Is it because of the wrong region? I downloaded the US version of the update, so now It can't read the Blu-ray disc of the asian region? Is there any way to revert this update? Or, can I downgrade my PS 3 to the earlier version before the update? I have a Japanese version of Playstation 3. I phoned Playstation Technical Support and they said this version of software has caused issues for many people. Has anyone else reading this been having any similar problems with playback etc.? I noticed my Playstation was freezing mid-way through games, which is anoying aswell. Playstation are now going to pick my machine up on the 17th Nov. and replace the reader on the machine.
